About the event

We'll cover the 3 most common issues parents struggle with when initiating breastfeeding:

Are they getting enough milk? How can you know with confidence? Weight loss is normal in the first few days, but more babies than ever are experiencing high drops in weight. Why? And is it as concerning as it seems? Would you know with confidence if your baby was getting enough milk?

If they're latched well, why does it hurt so much? It's hurting but everyone is saying the latch looks good. Baby is gaining and there's nothing to worry about, but the pain of feeding is unbearable. What could possibly be wrong? How can you stop it from hurting and is it something you're doing?

Do they need treatment for colic, reflux, tongue-tie or something else? Baby is crying constantly. They won't lay flat, you can't put them down, the health professionals are suggesting referrals and medications. How do you know if there's a genuine medical concern or if it's just normal behaviour? Do you know what a normal newborn behaves like and how to meet their intense needs?
